Description

ElecGear Replacement Joystick and Drift Fix PCB for Controllers, Analog Stick Controller Sensor Thumbsticks for PS5, PS4, Xbox, Xbox Elite, Switch Pro and more by ALPS and FU, Models from EL1 to EL7

Features

[EL4 for Xbox Controller] – 4x replacement analog joystick widely compatible with Xbox wireless controllers: Xbox One, One S and X and Elite Series 1. It is also used in newest Xbox Series S|X controllers. The thumbstick module was made by ALPS. This RKJXV stick controller series comes with 10K ohm trimmer potentiometers

[Compatibility] – This version of analog stick comes in light gray bottom plate. It locks in certain direction when not sit in controller cover. It comes with the same 14 prongs structure as PS4 versions. However, they’re slightly different from each other. Please use this EL4 for Xbox. Be noticed: EL4 does not work with older Xbox 360

[Additional Resistor] – Complicated moving mechanism and daily wear and tear finally caused drifting. Even new sensors cannot be 100% balanced. Calibrating in controller settings might not work. We packed 10x correction resistors to solve the potential problem in hardware level. Solder one or two paralleled tiny resistors onto the potentiometer at the opposite direction against drifting. It will help correct 3 to 5 degrees drifting

[When to replace] – The analog joystick needs to be replaced when your controller has the problem of drifting, creeping, stuttering, a blind spot, a dead spot, a dead zone, no reaction when clicking, or it wouldn't center after years of wear and tear. The OEM genuine repair parts ensure accuracy and prolong lifespan

[Reminder of DIY] – With as many as 14 prongs, de-soldering and soldering the whole module takes serious skills. We suggest replacing the potentiometers first to solve most of the joystick problems. To desolder the entire joystick module off PCB by a normal soldering iron, please take a look at the desoldering kit at product ID: B0BK7169M8

I bought this set of analog sticks to replace an old one that was experiencing some drift for an original Xbox One controller. The first one I put in worked, as in no more drift, but one side was much more sensitive than the other. This was my very first soldering attempt, so I think it might not have been soldered on completely flat to the circuit board, and if you look at the way the joystick covers go on over the analog sticks they need to be precisely lined up otherwise they wont function correctly. I popped off the covers and just moved the sticks themselves and the movement became much more uniform, so I believe that might be a common problem. Either way, I de-soldered the new analog stick and re-soldered on a different one from the pack, this time making sure it was flush to the circuit board and held it firmly while soldering on a couple corner pins. This one works great, it needs to be broken in a bit, but it is within the ballpark of functioning at 100%. As for comparing to the old, original analog sticks, the new ones are the exact same brand ALPS, and look exactly the same. If they aren't OE, its a very well done replica. The screwdrivers were a nice touch, too. As for longevity, I'll update if the new stick starts to go bad.
