So far, this is a good product.Since this door is offered under a variety of brand names, I figured it was being mass produced overseas, and sold through importers. I still believe that, and l believe it's a quality product.I found the instructions a little confusing.If you want to connect the actuator to the bottom of the door, use the washer on the actuator. That helps.Don't point the light sensor downward. That will screw up the dawn to dusk response.If you want to open and close the door other than dawn to dusk, you will need to buy batteries for the remote. Or, you will need to unscrew the cover on the control panel. I opted for batteries.The bolt that holds the actuator to the door was activating the infra red safety feature. You can grind the end of the bolt off, or you can bend the bracket that holds the infra red light. I opted for bending the bracket, and pointing the IR light outward a little bit. I haven't had any beheaded chickens yet...I decided to buy this automated chicken door rather then build one myself because I wanted something that was easy to install and work reliably. High quality. I say this kit will do. After spending an hour setting up and cutting wood I found all parts to be included EXCEPT for batteries. You will need a special +12- volt battery for both remote controls if you want to use them. The door will work with just a light sensor, however considering everything including a tape measure was included surely they should include battery.I still give 5 stars because I like that almost everything included and works great. Now for one small request next time please give a full solid door not a folding door. This will last longer.Our 10 year old son helped my husband install and it went smoothly. Easy install and works as described. A great buy all the way around!seems like a very good unit however my ppwer supply stopped working after about 2.5 weeks of useWorked great for 9 months now nothing.Plug and play - super simple to setup, instructions manual was surprisingly helpful and clear. Excited to be free from manually letting the chickens out each day!Cheapest chicken door of this style I could find on amazon. I'm not a fan of the doors that raise/fall with gravity! I'm planning on installing all the components inside a nice dry coop - but it looks pretty water resistant.I haven't installed in on the coop yet, but tested it in the house. I am really impressed that the control board has a separate adjustment for nighttime closing and daytime opening thresholds.So far I've opened/closed the door 10+ times just testing it out and it seems reliable and strong. The obstruction sensor tested out as expected. The actuator isn't silent, but it isn't obnoxiously loud. It certainly isn't louder than the chickens!Only downside, battery for remotes wasn't included. I don't plan on using the remotes - but they are a nice touch!Glad to get this product. Now to get my ducks in the coop before the door closes!It's a little challenging for the normal person. It is made well and a good product.
