Novice platformers can enable an assist feature that greatly reduces the platforming difficulty. On the other hand, if you think you're some kind of 80's platforming god, you can find devious, downright evil platforming levels that demand extreme levels of finger dexterity and precision.The combat is hugely improved. The protagonist now has a wide aresnal of offensive, defensive and movement options at his disposal. And they're not there just to look flashy. At higher difficulties the game WILL demand that you make full use of your aresnal, or meet an early demise.The game is very well polished, and feels like a premium product. Any developer looking to modernize a classic game should refer to this as a textbook example of how to do it.
