First issue I had was that the USB port was misaligned by the projector housing, evident of bad manufacturing and poor quality control.I returned that first defected projector and bought a second. The issue I had with the second one was that despite being advertised as a sealed dustproof unit, it was only a matter of minutes until I had black spots all over my image because of dust inside the unit. Don't know if the dust was sucked in or was already there from poor manufacturing. And because the housing has no obvious way to disassemble it to clean inside the lens and screen, I don't know how I'm going to clean off the dust.First impressions of the image quality was awful because the default sharpening setting was way too high at 50%. The image had huge halos and jagged edges. Lowering the sharpening to 20% smoothed out the image to look more natural. My final Picture Mode settings is 45 Brightness, 50 Contrast, 60 Saturation, and 20 Sharpness. However my complaint here is that the picture settings only apply to the HDMI input, not when using phone casting. Also keep in mind that the Brightness setting only controls the black level, not the bulb brightness which is not changeable, but that's the same with most cheap projectors.Electronic focus is very easy to use via the remote, but a warning about the Keystone adjustment. The Keystone only adjusts the shape of the image, not the physical tilt of the image plane like a manual adjustment does. That means your projector must be perpendicular to the screen (you cannot project at an upward or downward angle because not all of the image will be in focus).On the bright side (no pun intended because this projector doesn't get that bright - need a dark room for a usable image), the fan noise is low. Still an audible hum at around 38-40dB, but not an annoying or deafening whine. Built-in speakers are acceptable and do the job.In the end don't expect a lot from these cheap no-name projectors. They are disposable portable units that are fun in a pinch but there are a lot of issues if you plan on using it as a primary display device.UPDATE January 16, 2024:The vendor contacted me to make it right. They sent me a whole new replacement projector and it is performing perfectly. I've been using it for a week and there are no dust spots to be seen on the image, so the sealed projection engine is working as intended. I was annoyed that it took three units to get one that had no quality control issues, but third time's the charm. This is a great projector for the price. There's still some limitations with this whole segment of budget projectors like what I mentioned above in my original review, but the G1 delivers a decent picture with acceptable audio and low fan noise. Updating my rating from 2 stars to 5 stars.
